A 20-foot breach occurred in Liaqatpur Canal, inundating fields and a village named Allahabad in Liaqatpur tehsil in district Rahim Yar Khan on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The canal water inundated the villagers’ homes triggering a protest by them against the Irrigation Department. Protesters blamed the Irrigation Department that the canal water breach occurred because no precautionary measures were taken.

The protesters said the Irrigation Department staff reached the spot after the hiatus of eight hours and meanwhile their valuables were also drowned in the floodwater. However, the Irrigation Department said it will soon fill the canal breach.
