Renowned Islamic scholar and preacher Maulana Tariq Jameel was found in a cheerful mood on Sunday when he waved and even sent flying kisses to his followers before leaving a function, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Maulana, who is also a member of most well-known Tableeghi Jamaat of Raiwind, was born in Mian Channu on 1 October 1953.

Jamil belongs to the Sahu subtribe of Chauhan Rajputs. His family ruled Tulamba area near Multan during the reign of Afghan ruler Sher Shah Suri.

Jamil completed his primary education at Central Model School, Lahore. 

Later, he studied at Government College University, Lahore, and received his religious education from Jamia Arabia, Raiwind, where he studied the Qur’an, hadiths, Sufism, logic, and fiqh.

Maulana, who had got admission in King Edward Medical College after doing his pre-medical from Government College University, Lahore, later left the college without completing his MBBS when he decided to pursue religious education.
