An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad extended the interim bail of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan till Dec 9 in a case pertaining to protests and interference in the state affairs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Imran’s lawyer Babar Awan submitted the medical report of his client to the court.
The case was heard by ATC Judge Jawad Abbas Hassan on Monday.
Mr Awan requested the court to exempt injured Imran from appearing before the court today as he was currently in Lahore. On this, the judge remarked if the PTI chief could attend a rally in Rawalpindi, why he couldn’t come to appear before the court.
On this, the lawyer told the court that Imran wanted to appear before the court but he was not allowed to enter Islamabad by the ICT administration.
The court inquired of the lawyer if he had a written order regarding ban on Imran’s entry in Islamabad.
Awan said he did not have a written order, it was just a verbal instruction.
On this, the court said if the PTI had a written order, it could seek explanation from the Islamabad administration on this matter.
However, the court directed the lawyer to convey to Imran to ensure his presence in the court during next hearing no matter what happens.
After this, the court extended the interim bail of Imran till Dec 9 and adjourned the hearing of the case.
