Lahore board to drop word ‘fail’ on students’ result cards

The Punjab Education Board has decided to conduct the Matriculation and Intermediate examinations in the months of April and May, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Important decisions were made in a meeting of Inter Board Committee of Chairmen held in Lahore on Monday.
It has been suggested to increase the passing marks from 33 to 40. This suggestion will be approved during next meeting of the committee. While the new grading system would be effective in the next three years.
The students who will achieve 95% to 100% marks, they will be awarded AA+ grade.
Those who will get 90% to 95% marks, they will get A+ grade.
The students who will attain 85% to 90% marks, they will be awarded BB+ grade.
The board will not mention word ‘fail’ on result cards rather the word ‘unsatisfactory’ will be written on them.
The new grading system will be fully implemented in 2025.
