Punjab School Education Dept decides to launch teachers’ licensing in 2026

Punjab School Education Department has decided to launch teachers' licensing in 2026, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to department, it will be mandatory for both government and private teachers to obtain a license.

The summary of the teacher license will be sent to the provincial cabinet for approval.

The extension of the contract of temporary teachers will also be based on the license.

It will be mandatory to take a test to obtain a teaching license.

Only those who pass the test will be able to obtain a teaching license.

The taking test for the teaching license will be the responsibility of PECTA.

The licensing system is being introduced to improve the quality of education.
