Rival student groups clash at Int’l Islamic University in Islamabad

Clashes broke out between members of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Organization and the Islami Jamiat Talaba at the International Islamic University (IIU) in Islamabad on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A spokesman of the Islami Jamiat Talaba said that the fight erupted on the issue of the establishment of a new students' council. CCTV footage clearly showed students delivering punches at each other.

On the other hand, a spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Students Organization (JKSO) said that the members of KSO were forming for study circle when suddenly members of IJT attacked them.

The spokesman said that there is no truth in the news that members of Islamic Jamiat Talaba tortured their opponents.

He said that the clash arose between the two groups of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Federation (JKLF).

Later, the members of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Organization announced to hold a press conference against the brutal torture by students of the IJT.
