The US dollar began the new business week on a strong note as it surged by 36 in inter-bank exchange during early trading on Monday.

By the time this report was being filed, the dollar was available for Rs166.15 against the previous level of Rs165.79.

In the current month, the rupee as a whole has performed well to an extent that the dollar exchange rate didn’t get any big boost. But this trend, however, is basically a reflection of the international market where the dollar has remained under pressure for multiple factors.
