After several months of delay, the federal government and Capital Development Authority (CDA) took a significant step to bring changes in Islamabad Master Plan (IMP) and for that CDA’s Planning Wing prepared a draft of advertisement for hiring services of a consultant, 24NewsHD TV channel Monday quoting its sources.
The sources maintained that CDA’s Planning Wing has sent the advertisement to the Public Relations Department that will be formally advertised in newspapers next week.
The consultant services are being hired to induct the new places for the shopping malls, graveyards, urban and rural policies for the federal capital.
Sources maintained that the Master Plan Commission gave six months’ time in 2019 for changes in the IMP.
The TV channel reported CDA’s advertisement seeks applications from national and international firms and consultants will be hired on merit.
CDA’s Development Working Party (DWP) in August approved to hire services of a consultant or firm to make changes in Islamabad Master Plan.
After the hiring of the consultant, within one year, IMP will be changed. “Once IMP changed the rules and policies will also be changed accordingly,” the TV channel reported.
