US dollar speeds past Rs172 against Pakistani rupee

The US dollar on Tuesday smashed all records against the Pakistani rupee and shot up to Rs172.20 in the open market.
In the inter-bank market the US dollar increased by another 40 paisas and breached the psychological mark of Rs170 from Rs169.60, reported 24NewHD TV channel.
Economists said that the Pakistani rupee has reached its lowest against the US dollar due to the increase in demand.
Economists warned of a tsunami of inflation as the continued upward trend of the US dollar that has been increased the prices of imported items.
On Monday, the US dollar closed at Rs169.60 after increasing 37 paisas.
