Muhammad Ehsani, also known as Anwar, the ISIS-Khorasan commander responsible for the 2022 Cocheh Risaldar blast in Peshawar, has been killed in Afghanistan’s Mazar-i-Sharif region, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to sources, Muhammad Ehsani, of Tajik origin, was the key facilitator behind the deadly blast that killed 67 people.

The ISIS-K commander was responsible for recruiting and training Tajik suicide bombers for attacks in Pakistan.

In September 2025, Pakistani security forces killed three ISIS-Khorasan militants, including one Afghan national, during an operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, 'Operation Sarbakhaf' continues in Bajaur, with security forces actively targeting ISIS-Khorasan and TTP facilitators in the region.
