Militants’ leftover explosive kills three children in Bajaur; five injured

A tragic explosion in the Laghri area of Bajaur, left behind by extremist group Fitna al-Khawarij, killed three children and injured five others, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to the report, the incident occurred on 27 September when the children were playing with the abandoned explosive device.

Responding promptly, the Pakistan Army airlifted the injured children to Peshawar for urgent treatment.

The injured children are currently under the supervision of expert doctors at CMH Peshawar.

Police and relevant authorities have cordoned off the site and collected evidence.

The incident underscores the dangerous traps left by extremists in civilian areas.

Fitna al-Khawarij has previously used mosques and homes as shields for terrorist attacks.

In a past incident in Wadi Tirah, stored explosives detonated, killing several innocent civilians and 14 militants.

This latest explosion highlights how extremists continue to use populated areas as shields.

With the support of local communities, the Pakistan Army remains committed to clearing Bajaur of such hazards.

Security forces and related agencies aim to completely neutralise the threat posed by Fitna al-Khawarij in the region.
