Sindh introduces free scooter scheme for ladies with lottery system

The Sindh government has announced the eligibility criteria and application process for its free electric scooter scheme for women, aimed at reducing challenges faced by women and empowering them across the province.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, to benefit from the scheme, applicants must be permanent residents of Sindh and either students or employed women.

Possession of a valid driving license is mandatory. Women selected through a lottery will be restricted from selling the scooter for seven years.

Selected candidates must also pass a road safety and skills test to ensure safe operation of the electric scooters. 

The distribution of scooters will be conducted through a transparent lottery system, overseen by a committee including representatives from Excise, Transport, Finance departments, and the media.
