Strong sunshine caused the temperature in Lahore to rise to 34 degrees Celsius even early in the morning on Friday, as extra-ordinarily high temperatures in the Punjab capital and other parts of the country in April continue to test people’s patience, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The humidity level in the city was recorded at 20 per cent, while winds were blowing at the speed of 14km per hour.

The weather department has predicted the day temperature to shoot up to 43 degrees Celsius later in the day while 24 degrees Celsius has been projected on the minimum side.

The AQI over the US consulate, The Mall, Anarkali Bazaar, and Phase-8, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) was recorded at 171, 167, 154 and 151, respectively.

Like other parts of the country, the weather is extremely hot in Islamabad and its suburbs.

Likewise, Karachi and other parts of Sindh are no exception where temperatures are also soaring with each passing day.

The Met Office has predicted the maximum temperature in the city to fluctuate between 36 degrees and 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.5 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level was recorded at 32 per cent, while the sea breeze was blowing from the south-westerly direction at the speed of 12 nautical miles.

The weather department has forecast extremely hot and dry weather for the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), upper Sindh and eastern parts of Balochistan and Islamabad during the next 24 hours.

However, it said, there might be rain at isolated places in upper parts of KP such as Mansehra, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kurram, Waziristan and Kohistan today either in the evening or at night.
