The government has issued a security alert for all A and A Plus category public and private schools in Punjab on Friday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Home Department Punjab has ordered all 16,000 schools in the A and A-plus categories to comply with the SOPs regarding security measures.
In connection with it, the Department of School Education has directed the schools with more than 1,500 students to improve security arrangements.
The channel report said that monitoring teams have been ordered to visit schools and remove security gaps in the educational institutes across the province.
The department also advised the school administrations to make contact with the law enforcement agencies in case of any security breach immediately.
School focal persons have also been directed to be in constant touch with the security agencies.
It may be recalled that there is a total of 16,000 A and A-plus category schools in Punjab and 310 in Lahore.
