HEC launches Pakistan’s first national education data system to boost transparency
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched the country’s first national education data system aimed at centralizing university records and improving decision-making in the higher education sector.
According to HEC officials, the new platform will consolidate data from universities across Pakistan, enabling more efficient monitoring and enhancing transparency in institutional rankings.
As part of the initiative, a formal agreement has been signed between the HEC and Huawei Pakistan for the implementation of the system.
The commission stated that all information and records will be stored on HEC’s own cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure and streamlined data management.
Officials added that the primary objective of the project is to bring greater transparency to the higher education system while supporting informed policy planning and future development of the sector.
