Jessie J to make comeback next weekend post breast cancer surgery
Jessie J will be making her musical comeback next weekend after cancelling tour dates for second breast cancer surgery following mastectomy.
Jessie’s highly anticipated comeback has been confirmed on Friday as she makes her return to the stage after her cancer diagnosis.
According to the Daily Mail, the Price Tag singer had taken time away from the limelight to receive treatment after shocking fans earlier this year when she revealed she was battling breast cancer.
In June, Jessie underwent a mastectomy as part of her treatment for the disease, which was caught early.
However, she was rushed back to hospital earlier this month with an infection and fluid on her lungs, due to her low immune system.
Now, her return to the stage has been confirmed as she joins the official Saturday lineup for BBC Radio 2 In The Park.
The hitmaker will join Olly Murs, Ella Henderson, Belinda Carlisle, Ronan Keating, Sterophonics, Bryan Adams, Marti Pellow and Kid Creole & The Coconuts in Chelmsford, Essex next weekend.
Tickets for the three-day event have already sold out for the Saturday sets.
The news comes as Jessie released brand new music on Friday, with her single Believe in Magic now available to stream.
Jessie revealed the track was written in 2022 while she was pregnant and has remained unreleased until now.
She said: 'I was breaking open and loving writing again. It was a deep hopeful loving feeling I wanted to put into a song. It resonates with me more now than perhaps it did then. That’s the beauty of music, it can travel in time.
'I love this song. I hope you get the inspiration for your life in your own way. That’s my only hope for all my music.'
Jessie last performed at the Summertime Ball in June when she told the crowd at Wembley Stadium she was taking time out for treatment.
The mum-of-one previously described how she found a lump in her breast and went on to have a biopsy before the doctors rang her with the results.
On Thursday she was forced to cancel tour dates after being told by medics she needs to have a second operation.
