Two terrorists killed while planting bomb along Kohat road
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) gunned down two terrorists, and their other colleagues escaped from the scene during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Takht Bhai area of Kohat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, these terrorists were planning to plant some explosive material on a road in the area.
CTD personnel recovered 2 SMGs, 2 hand grenades, and 6 magazines from the possession of terrorists.
Later, the CTD started a search operation in the area to apprehend the fleeing terrorists.
Earlier, in March 2026, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel killed two “most-wanted terrorists” affiliated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP) during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district.
The press release said CTD personnel conducted the operation within the limits of Gomal police station based on “credible intelligence”.
It said that the suspects, upon encountering CTD personnel, opened fire on them. The press release added that the exchange of gunfire continued for around 40 minutes, following which a search operation was launched.
