PSB decides to launch crackdown against national sports federations

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has decided to initiate a crackdown against several national sports federations for alleged continuous violations of the national sports policy, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

According to sources, final notices have been issued to three sports federations, Judo, Sailing, and Taekwondo, for repeatedly breaching the national sports regulations.

The PSB has expressed serious concern over the non-compliance of these federations with the existing policy framework.

Sources within the PSB revealed that certain office-bearers of the three federations had already completed two consecutive terms, which was in direct violation of the national sports policy.

The federations allegedly failed to implement the required reforms despite repeated warnings.

The concerned office-bearers have been directed to step down from their positions within seven days.

The PSB has warned that failure to comply with the directive will empower the board to impose sanctions, including possible suspension or restrictions on the respective federations.
