Sameer Minhas, Usman Khan hit tons as rain washes out Pakistan-Zimbabwe U-19 clash

The match between Pakistan Under-19 and Zimbabwe was abandoned due to rain on Monday after only Pakistan’s innings could be completed.

Persistent rain prevented Zimbabwe from beginning their innings, forcing officials to call off the match.

The incomplete fixture was highlighted by brilliant centuries from Pakistan’s Sameer Munhas and Usman Khan.

Earlier at the Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field, sending Pakistan in to bat in the three-nation Under-19 One-Day series clash.

Pakistan Under-19 posted a commanding total of 354 for seven in their allotted 50 overs.

Sameer Minhas produced a superb knock of 142 runs off 106 balls, striking 17 fours and four sixes.

Usman Khan also impressed with a fine innings of 121 off 112 deliveries, which included 12 fours and two sixes.

The duo added a crucial 199-run partnership for the second wicket, laying a solid foundation for Pakistan’s imposing total.

Huzifah Ahsan chipped in with a valuable 54 runs.

However, heavy rain set in before Zimbabwe could start their chase, leading to the abandonment of the match.

Pakistan Under-19 will play their third match of the series against Afghanistan on January 2, followed by their fourth fixture against Zimbabwe on January 4.

The final of the tri-nation series is scheduled to be played on January 6.
