Transgender Rimal Ali joins PTI

Rimal Ali, Pakistan’s first transgender model-turned-actor and professional dancer, has joined ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), reported City42 TV channel on Friday.

Rimal Ali was given the membership of PTI’s Welfare Wing. Rimail was also given the membership of the Pakistan Human Rights Commission and was also appointed as the coordinator.

Rimal Ali said to become a part of the PTI is a matter of pride for her and she will raise her voice for people like herself.

Earlier this month, Rimal Ali was tortured and harassed. In a video statement, Rimal Ali accused an influential person of mentally and physically torturing her for a long time.

After becoming subject to abuse, her head was also shaven off and she accused a resident of Attock, Jahanzeb Khan, of this vile conduct. “I am being oppressed daily so I can be prevented from working in the showbiz. My life is in danger, so if anything happens to me, Jahanzeb should be held accountable,” she said.
