6.3 magnitude quake hits Islamabad, AJK, parts of Punjab

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Islamabad, Azad Kashmir and other parts of Punjab on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The tremors also shook parts of neighbouring countries Iran and Afghanistan.

According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the magnitude of earthquake was 6.3 on Richter scale.

The tremors were also felt in Rawalpindi, Murree, and other parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

There were no reports of any damage from the earthquake, according to initial reports.

The epicentre of this earthquake was Tajikistan, while its depth was 150 kilometres,

Meanwhile, the earthquake shook buildings in Iran. Three people were killed and more than 500 were injured.
