Pakistan’s active coronavirus cases drop to 25,213

The number of active coronavirus cases in Pakistan has now reduced to 25,213, shows the latest figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre on Wednesday morning.
Amid this positive development, a total of 244,883 people have so far fully recovered from the infection caused by the deadly coronavirus.
On the other hand, the virus was found in another 1,063 people during the past 24 hours (Tuesday), raising the overall number of cases detected in the country to 276,288.
Meanwhile, the same period saw 27 people dying of the coronavirus infection, which means the death toll has now reached 5,892.
As far as the region-wise distribution of active cases in concerned, Sindh tops the list with 8,237 patients. The figures for other provinces and regions are: Punjab 7,807, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 4,814, Islamabad 2,421, Balochistan 1,438, Azad Kashmir 462 and Gilgit-Baltistan 334.
With regard to the overall number of coronavirus cases reported officially in Pakistan, 119,398 infections are detected in Sindh followed by Punjab 92,452, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 33,724, Islamabad 12,963, Balochistan 11,654, Azad Kashmir 2,055 and Gilgit-Baltistan 2,042.
Unfortunately, the most number of deaths has also been reported from Sindh with 2,172 people dying of the virus in the province. The official data for the other provinces and regions is: Punjab 2,133, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,186, Islamabad 165, Balochistan 136, Azad Kashmir 50 and Gilgit-Baltistan 50.
