Scooter Braun sidesteps Taylor Swift drama as kids make ocean history with orcas in Baja California
Scooter Braun, the controversial music mogul often at the centre of Taylor Swift fandom fury, found a peaceful escape this week, far from the noise of social media and celebrity feuds, as he vacationed with his children in Baja California, Mexico.
And in a once-in-a-lifetime moment, Braun’s kids made headlines of their own by becoming the youngest people ever to swim with killer whales.
The 44-year-old talent manager, known for discovering Justin Bieber and acquiring Taylor Swift’s masters in a 2019 deal that ignited public backlash, shared touching footage of the experience on Instagram.
His children – Jagger, Levi, and Hart, 6 – were seen swimming in the Pacific Ocean alongside their father as orcas, sea lions, manta rays, and pilot whales glided past them.
“One of the greatest days of my life,” Braun captioned the clip. “We spent three amazing days in the ocean with friends and our kids… and on our final morning, a family of orcas appeared.”
The rare moment came during a luxury marine expedition with The Bucket List Family, a popular travel influencer crew known for oceanic adventures. Braun, who shares his three children with ex-wife Yael Cohen, called the encounter “incredible,” noting how the orca mother and calf paused to watch the children mid-swim.
“To see the kids light up… and to see the orcas stop and stare at them… I’ll never forget it,” Braun added.
The peaceful family getaway offered a sharp contrast to Braun’s recent media spotlight. Just days earlier, he reignited headlines after appearing on the Question Everything podcast, where he spoke bluntly about the continued backlash from Swifties over the $300 million deal that gave him ownership of Swift's early catalog — before he later sold it.
“They made the horrible miscalculation that I care,” Braun said of the online outrage, claiming the hate from Swift's fan base represents “less than one percent” of her audience. Despite the ongoing drama with Swift and a now-former business relationship with Justin Bieber — who parted ways with Braun’s Hybe America — the music executive appears focused on more personal matters these days.
