Dinner at PM House: MNAs absence draws Imran Khan s ire

The absence of members of National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to the ruling PTI and its allies parties from a dinner at the PM house drew Prime Minister Imran Khan's ire, 24News TV Channel reported on Monday.

The premier planned the dinner for MNAs as part of his endeavours to get the federal budget of the fiscal year of 2021-22 sailed through the National Assembly, sources said. 

The insiders said the premier showed his resentment over the absence of MNAs and sought a detailed report over the matter from state minister Amir Dogar and Defence Minister Pervez Khatak. 

Tariq Bashir Cheema and Moonis Elahi of Q-League, a coalition partner in government, was too on the list of MNAs who skipped the dinner.

In his address, the premier said he had dinned out 10 times after becoming premier and three of these were with them.

Imran Khan shared with the participants his government's feats in financial management while braving covid-19 caused economic crisis.

However, he said this budget is a wonderful piece of finance management that he hoped will sail through the low house of the parliament tomorrow. He stressed the need for joint efforts to put the court on the path for progress and prosperity. 

PM Imran Khan geared up efforts for budget approval and for the purpose, he assigned Amir Dogar with the task of ensuring the presence of MNAs belonging to the treasury in the session 

He had put off the federal cabinet meeting scheduled to be held tomorrow and he would be present at his chamber in the National Assembly.

PM Imran Khan directed lawmakers of ruling coalition to stay in the federal cabinet till the budget approval, the insiders said.
