Three suspected women have been arrested in Kohat in connection with the rape and murder of four-year-old Hareem Fatima Khattak, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The arrests have been made on the basis of footage obtained from CCTV camera.
The footage clearly shows a burqa clad woman holding the hand of little Hareem in her hand and taking her to an unknown destination.
Sources told 24News that so far police had taken 46 people into custody in connection with the atrocity committed on a child.
Police, on the other hand, are reluctant to talk to the media on the subject.
It is pertinent to mention here that Khattak tribesmen, in their recently held Jirga, have decided to bulldoze the homes of pedophiles besides evicting them from Karak and Kohat for good.
The body of a four-year-old girl, who was raped and then strangled, was found in a drain in Kohat on Friday (March 26).
The post-mortem examination of Hareem Fatima later confirmed that she was raped before her strangulation.
A tribal council gave the police and the local administration 72 hours to arrest the culprit(s) who raped the minor girl, strangled her and then threw her body in a drain in Khattak Colony in Kohat.
The tribal council said the police and the local administration would be responsible for the chaos if the culprit(s) are not arrested within the given timeframe.
Hareem went out to play on Thursday and never returned home. Her parents and close relatives launched a search for her, but to no avail. Her body was found in a drain on Friday, a day after she went missing.
