Temperatures drop further as rain lashes parts of country

Different parts of the country received showers on Sunday, further bringing down temperatures, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Islamabad receives rain

Intermittent rainfall was reported from Islamabad.

The minimum temperature recorded in the federal capital in the morning was 15 degrees Celsius, while it was expected to reach 27 degrees Celsius later in the day.

Breeze was blowing at the speed of nine kilometers per hour, while the level of moisture stood at over 32 per cent.

The Met Office predicted that rain would continue in the city during the next 24 hours while it could also receive hails.

Rain lashes Lahore

Heavy rain, accompanied by strong winds, pounded Lahore and its outskirts.

The highest amount of rainfall was recorded in Shadipura area of the city, totaling 43 millimeters.

It was followed by Saggian, Tajpura, Pani Wala Talab, Samanabad and Gulshan-e-Ravi which received 36.5, 37.5, 30.5 and 30 millimeters of rainfall, respectively.

The minimum temperature in the city of gardens was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius, while it was expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.

Breeze was blowing at the speed of eight kilometers per hour, while the level of humidity in the air stood at 73 per cent.

The Met Office forecast more showers for the city during the next 24 hours.

Karachi to receive rain today

Rain, accompanied by strong winds, will lash Karachi today.

The daytime temperature would touch 33 degrees Celsius mark.

The level of moisture in the morning stood at 75 per cent, while winds were blowing at the speed of 18 kilometers per hour from west.

More rain predicted

On the other hand, the weather department forecast rain for different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours.

It also predicted rain for different parts of Punjab and Sindh, including Lahore and Karachi.
