A number of tea companies in Pakistan has increased the price of tea by Rs100 per kilogram amid a storm of inflation triggered by the recent massive surge in prices of petroleum products, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

After the revised price, the new price of the tea per kilogram has shot up to Rs1,350.

Retailers Association General Secretary Farid Qureshi said that the price hike was due to the increase in the value of the US dollar.
