The Spokesperson of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Haroon Shanwari has been removed from his post for giving a controversial response to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's statement of dissolving assemblies.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Haroon Shinwari had given a controversial response to the PTI Chairman's statement of dissolving the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies on November 26.
The ECP spokesperson gave a controversial statement on the dissolution of the assemblies to hold by-elections which was given without the approval of the Election Commission.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) took serious notice of his statement and issued immediate orders for the removal of the ECP spokesperson.
On the direction of the CEC, ECP Spokesperson Haroon Shinwari has been dismissed and directed to report to the establishment wing on Tuesday.
