Former US president Jimmy Carter, 99, made a rare public appearance Tuesday to lead two of his successors and all five living US first ladies at the memorial service for his wife Rosalynn Carter.
Carter left hospice care in Plains, Georgia, to make the journey to Glenn Memorial Church in Atlanta, where he sat in a wheelchair for the tribute to Rosalynn, who died on November 19, aged 96.
