Saudi Arabia issues new guidelines for passengers carrying psychotropic drugs

The Saudi Aviation Authority has issued new travel guidelines for international passengers, making it mandatory to declare and register psychotropic drugs before entering the Kingdom, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

According to the circular, effective November 1, all passengers carrying psychotropic or narcotic drugs must register them through the Saudi Ministry of Health’s portal at cds.fada.gov.sa.

The move aims to streamline monitoring and ensure compliance with the country’s drug control regulations.

The authority has further directed that clearance regarding such medicines must be obtained in advance. Passengers and airlines failing to comply with the new rules will face strict action.

Airlines worldwide have been instructed to adhere to the guidelines and inform travelers accordingly. The Saudi Aviation Authority emphasised that the new measures are part of efforts to regulate the transport of controlled medicines and safeguard public health.
