Toxic water claims lives of five children in Sindh village

Poisonous water claimed the lives of five children in a village of the Sanghar district in Sindh, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to rescue officials, the children died after they drank toxic water from a local hand pump. Another two kids are stated to be in critical condition.

The deceased are eight-year-old Mureed Bhatti, three-year-old Mumtaz, five-year-old Rashid Ali, four -year-old Sania and four4-year-old Zamira

The health authorities woke up to the issue after the story went viral. A health team visited the village and confirmed the presence of toxic materials in the water after a test. 

The district health officer said the hand pump installed on the agricultural land has been sealed.
