The internationally acclaimed Indian Punjab singer Diljit Dosanjh released a tribute song ‘RiRi’ for US singer Rihanna after she tweeted in favour of protesting farmers camped at Delhi border,

Rihanna stormed the internet and Indian diaspora and literally there were key-board warriors who exchanged hot words in favour and against Rihanna for speaking about the rights of Indian farmers protesting against the pro-industry farms laws for over a month now.

Rihanna tweeted with a CNN article, “Why aren’t we talking about this? #farmersProtest.”

Diljit also tweeted the lyrics of the song: “Barbados Diye Sohniye Kudiye ... Rang Jion Kankaan Di Jaee Ein.. Raj tan Rab Nu Kare Salaama Jiney Pari Dhart Te Laee Ein..”

The song also reignited twitter war with Kangana Ranaut, both are arch-rivals and confronted on social networking websites openly taking sides with the government and protesting farmers.

Kangana Ranaut when said, “Mujhe pata tha tu kabhi nahin bolega ki tu Khalistani nahi hai, this is for everyone to see, bhed ki khaal mein bhediye,” terming Diljit a wolf and non-patriotic person. On this, Dijlit replied in a tit-for-tat reply in a series of tweets. Later he released a tribute song for Rihanna.

India slammed international celebrities on Wednesday for making comments in support of protesting farmers as inaccurate and irresponsible.

US singer Rihanna, climate change activist Greta Thunberg and US lawyer and activist Meena Harris, the niece of Vice-President Kamala Harris, made pro-farmers comments on social media websites.

Pakistan’s Punjab Assembly also passed a resolution in favour of Indian farmers who are staging a sit-in outside at Delhi border urging the Modi-led BJP government to repeal all three farms laws.
