Pakistani professional mountaineer Muhammad Ali Sadpara has resumed the K2 summit push on Wednesday and vowed to wave the Pakistani flag on the world's second-tallest mountain on Kashmir Day (Feb 5), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sadpara said this is the last attempt to head towards K2 with his team. “InshaAllah at 4 o'clock in the morning we will resume our journey from K-2 base camp-II to base camp-III and on 5th February we will fly the Pakistani flag,” Sadpara vowed.

Sadpara co-mountaineer John Snorri from Iceland, who is also climbing the K-2 along with him, tweeted, “K2 - 8.611m summit push starts on the 3rd at 04:00 PKT. We are aiming for the summit on the 5th of February, Friday morning at noon PKT.

The three-member expedition team comprising Iceland’s John Snorri and Pakistani mountaineer Mohammad Ali Sadpara and his son Sajid Sadpara had to return to the base camp from the higher points three times in the recent k2 summit due to high-speed winds.

Now they have resumed another attempt to scale K2 by Feb 5 as the weather is usually sunny.
