In a shocking development, the wife and her lover turned to be the killers of an Imam Masjid (prayer leader) who was mercilessly murdered in Lahore’s Shalamar area last week, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As the investigations into the blind murder proceeded, it came out that the slain prayer leader’s wife and her lover named Ashraf Usman were behind the murder.

DIG Investigations Lahore Shariq Jamal informed the media at a news conference on Wednesday. According to him, the police have arrested the suspect who had a relationship with the victim’s wife as both of them wanted to contract marriage.

Reportedly, Asif’s wife had demanded divorce many times earlier from the Imam Masjid and after his refusal, they hatched a plan to remove him from the scene.

Earlier, it was reported that unidentified men cut off the jugular vein of Imam Masjid Asif with the help of a sharp-edged knife in Lahore’s Shalamar area.

Some unknown people had come for a meeting with the Imam after which this gruesome incident was reported.
