PM Imran Khan says inflation to be reduced next month

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said the performance of our economic team is satisfactory, told the spokespersons that your brand is Prime Minister, who is not a thief, reported 24NewsHD TV.

Speaking from the meeting of government spokespersons and ministers, PM Imran has been said that the fake statements of the opposition regarding the Finance Bill should be strongly countered.

PM Imran directed the spokespersons and to inform the people about the reduction in inflation next month.

Sources said that Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin in a briefing on inflation and economic situation said that inflation has come down in December as compared to November, next month inflation will come down further, as global commodity prices are falling. 

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the improvement in the economic situation in the meeting and said that the economic situation should be made public and the statistics of the economy should be shared. The Finance Minister said in the briefing that taxes of Rs2 billion were being exaggerated by the opposition, to which the Prime Minister said that the public confusion about refunds and rebates should be removed.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister lashed out at the opponents and said the opposition protects its thieves, robbers and corrupt leaders. 

On the other side, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that there was a need to learn a lot from China in countering urban planning issues and Pakistan’s development was linked with exports and industrial development.

He also revealed that he was planning his trip to China next week (with subject to the coronavirus situation) to discuss urban development planning.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was addressing the launching ceremony of the Pak-China Business Investment Forum in Islamabad. China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong also addressed the investment ceremony.

Khan said money laundering has become a prime problem for developing countries. PM Khan said his government has been taking steps for more foreign investment along with the ease of doing business to attract more investment in less time.

Imran Khan also cited Turkey as an example of carrying out development by increasing its exports.

Citing examples of Lahore, PM Khan said that Pakistan cities were expanding.

Imran Khan said Pakistan can learn from China to preserve land for food security.

Imran Khan also stressed using modern technology to resolve the urban issues as Pak cities are rapidly being urbanized. The premier also expressed his displeasure over failing to control the pollution.

Pak-China Business Investment Forum has been formed with the collaboration of the Board of Investment Pakistan and All Pakistan Chinese Enterprises. This is aimed at increasing Chinese companies' investment in Pakistan and promotion of business to business industrial cooperation.

The forum consists of 18 Chinese and 19 Pakistani companies.

Following the participation of over 70 companies in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Conference held in March last year, it was agreed to establish a business forum with the cooperation of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the Board of Investment to enhance business to business cooperation.

The objective of the forum is to promote sustainable investment and export industry and the development of modern technology in Pakistan.
