Tax directory 2019 released: Yousaf Gilani pays nothing, Buzdar Rs2,000 only

PM Imran pays Rs9.8m, Shehbaz Rs7.1m, Zardari Rs2,2m and Bilawal Rs0.53m only

The Federal Board of Revenue has released the tax directory 2019 of the parliamentarians and the legislators on Monday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the details provided by the FBR, only 80 senators and 312 members of the National Assembly submitted their tax returns.

As per the documents, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has paid only Rs 2,000 tax while Senator Yousaf Raza Gilani paid nothing.

Prime Minister Imran Khan's income is Rs44.5 million and he paid income tax of Rs9.8 million in 2019. Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif has submitted a tax of Rs7.1 million and his income is Rs35 million only.

Asif Ali Zardari, who has an income of more than Rs 280 million, paid Rs2.2 million and his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's total income is Rs 38 million and he has submitted a tax of Rs0.53 million.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser paid an income tax of Rs0.55 million and Asad Umar paid income tax of Rs4.2 million. Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry paid an income tax of Rs0.13 million.

Senator Talha Mahmood is a higher income taxpayer and has paid tax of Rs32.28 million while Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has paid tax of Rs26.6 million in 2019.

 Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi paid a tax of Rs851,955, Federal Minister Murad Saeed Rs86,606, Minister of State Farrukh Habib Rs4,05,477, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Rs4.8 million.

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani paid an income tax of Rs1.3 million and Senator Raza Rabbani paid an income tax of Rs15.5 million.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervez Elahi paid Rs932,835 in taxes while Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar paid only Rs2,000 tax.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah paid a tax of Rs1.9 million, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan Rs66,258, Balochistan Chief Minister Qudus Bizenjo Rs1.06 million and Former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Rs1.7 million.

Faisal Vawda paid an income tax of Rs1.1 million, Farogh Naseem Rs4.2 million, Azam Nazir Tarar Rs2.5 million, Senator Ahmed Khan Rs2.3 million and Senator Shibli Faraz Rs885,451 only.
