The motorbike spare parts have become expensive following a massive rise in the prices of petroleum products within a week by the government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

People with meagre income will find it too difficult to get their motorcycles repaired and tuned, for the repair prices at the motorbike repair shops have increased by Rs300 to Rs500.

The owners of the motorbike repair shops express resentment at the skyrocketing prices of the motorbike spare parts, saying that new rate list detailing the prices of motorbike spare parts come after every two weeks.

“Earlier, the prices of spare parts used to increase by Rs10 or Rs15 with a rise in the prices of petroleum products,” they said, adding: “Now, the prices of spare parts increase by Rs50 or Rs150.”

It is to be noted here that the prices of motorbike spare parts including tyres, headlights, etc. and other tuning material such as engine oil have nearly doubled after an unprecedented hike in the prices of petroleum products.
