Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Haleem Adil Sheikh who blew hot and cold for three hours at Jinnah Hospital in Karachi on Wednesday finally got his chance to vote in Senate elections at Sindh Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Haleem Adil Sheikh, currently admitted to Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital, on Wednesday morning kept waiting and waiting for an armoured vehicle to pick him up and drop him at Sindh Assembly (SA) building so that he could cast his vote in the Senate elections.

The vehicle did not arrive at the hospital even after the passage of three hours since the voting began.

The opposition leader was seen murmuring that normally the armoured vehicle reached on time to take him either to the court or assembly, but today it was exactly the opposite. “Please take me to the assembly either in a rickshaw or police patrol car as voting for the Senate elections has begun,” he said to the police officer, incharge of his security.

Initially, the officer replied that he was trying to contact the high-ups. Later, he told PTI leader that the vehicle had developed some fault, and that it would be there at Jinnah Hospital once the fault was removed.

At last, the armoured vehicle reached the hospital after three hours delay and took Haleem Adil to Sindh Assembly. After reaching the Assembly, Haleem told awaiting journalists what happened all morning.

Meanwhile, the PTI has announced celebrations ahead of the results of the Senate elections.

Talking to the media, PTI leader from Sindh Khurram Sher Zaman said that the party would emerge victorious in the polls. “Our all five candidates would return to the Senate,” Zaman expressed the hope.

With regard to party dissidents Aslam Abro and Shehryar Shar, the PTI leader surmised they might also have voted for the party candidates.

He further said that Karim Bux Gabol would reach the Sindh Assembly to cast vote.

Khurram Sher Zaman accused the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) of kidnapping three of PTI’s MPAs. “We managed to secure their release only yesterday (Tuesday),” he said, and claimed, “Everybody will see the results today as we will be celebrating our win.”

The PTI leader said it was only after seven years since he had become an MPA that he realised how horse-trading was done and how votes were purchased.

Zaman said the people of Sindh should understand what had become of their province. “PPP is in power in the province for the seventh time, and still you can see the state of hospitals, road infrastructure and other sectors here.”
