Unusual rush at Jeddah airport: Passengers land in trouble

Passengers have been landed in trouble because of an extraordinary rush at Jeddah Airport, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

The PIA administration ‘sprang into action' to extend help to the Pakistani pilgrims and a spokesperson for the national airline said the officials in Jeddah are in contact with Saudi officials.

Aviation Minister Kh Saad Rafique is supervising the situation, the spokesman said, adding that special directives have been issued to provide all-out help to the passengers.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) administration issued directives to provide the passengers with all-out assistance.

According to a PIA spokesperson, flight information can also be obtained from PIA’s call center 786 786 111.

 

A PIA spokesman said local PIA teams were working with airport officials to reduce flight delays.

 

The PIA CEO is personally monitoring the situation.

Federal Minister for Civil Aviation Khawaja Saad Rafique is also reviewing the situation from time to time so that Pakistani passengers are at least bothered.

 

PIA CEO said "We apologize in advance for the inconvenience caused to the guests, but we also ask for your help."
