Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf government made a tax settlement agreement with IMF that has brought enormous problems for the people, reported 24 News HD TV Channel on Saturday.

Talking to the media persons, he said the PTI government was trying to make the country Sri Lanka, adding that Shaukat Tareen and his party wanted to bankrupt the country.

Replying to former finance minister Shaukat Tareen, in which Tareen claimed that the PTI government would have succeeded in getting rid of IMF in Sept 2022, Miftah asked if PTI was trying to get rid of Pakistan or IMF.

The finance minister alleged that Shaukat Tareen and his party tried to shut down the IMF program which could cause colossal damage to the national economy.

Miftah Ismail said Imran Khan used charity money for his own politics and he should answer about the performance of his government instead of creating hurdles for the government.

The whole country is dealing with flood calamity while Imran Khan is engaged in making public rallies, he should be asked how many times he visited the flood victims, he lamented.

He asked Shaukat that the interest of the country is sacred to us.
