Health emergency declared at airports following monkeypox spread

Following the risk of transmission of Mpox disease, the Airport Security Force (ASF) has issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) to avoid the chances of spread of disease, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A state of health emergency decaled at Lahore Airport and other operational airports in the country.
The DG ASF directed the strict adherence of these SOPs.
According to the SOPs, it will be mandatory for ASF personnel to wear face masks and to wear gloves during body search and luggage checking of passengers.
Moreover, the issuance of temporary passports for entry into the airport has also been suspended.
