According to the 24News HD TV channel, the theme for the day is "Stop the Pandemic: Safety and Health at work can save lives."

The primary goal of commemorating International Labour Day is to recognise the working classes’ hard work and devotion, raise awareness about their rights, and protect them from exploitation
