Electricity shortfall reaches 6,542 megawatts

Different parts of the country are experiencing six hours of loadshedding as the shortfall has reached 6, 542 megawatts of electricity, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Sources in the Power Division told 24News that contrary to total power production which stood at 21, 458 megawatts, the demand stood at 28, 000 megawatts. 

They explained that 7, 700 megawatts of electricity was being generated from water while the thermal plants were producing 650 megawatts of electricity.  

Similarly, they informed, private power generation houses were producing 9, 550 megawatts, wind power plants 780 megawatts and solar plants 155 megawatts of electricity. 

Furthermore, they added, power production from nuclear fuel stood at 2, 565 megawatts.
