Raging Ravi River washes away Syphon Bridge in Lahore

The Ravi Syphon Bridge, weighing hundreds of tonnes, also could not withstand the pressure of the raging floodwater and was washed away only to be later stopped in the middle of the river by the engineers of the Pakistan Army, thus preventing a much bigger loss, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The bridge could not absorb the floodwater pressure and was uprooted and swept away by the wave.
As soon as the water level in the Ravi River drops, the bridge will be taken to its original position and will be installed there.
Had the bridge collided with the Ravi Bridge near Shahdara, there could have been a much bigger loss.
