China criticizes Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’ for distorting facts
China has criticized Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s upcoming film “Battle of Galwan”, alleging that the movie distorts historical facts, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.
The teaser for the film was released on 27 December, coinciding with Salman Khan’s birthday, and was also shared by the actor on his Instagram account.
The film portrays Salman Khan as an Indian army officer and is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes between India and China, which escalated tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), leading to increased military deployments, border monitoring, and other defensive measures.
China’s state-run media outlet, Global Times, criticized the teaser, claiming that it misrepresents the events.
Chinese experts reportedly stated that while films and dramas may exaggerate incidents, they should not distort the depiction of another country’s territory.
“Battle of Galwan” is slated for release in cinemas on 17 April 2026, and its depiction of the border clashes has already sparked debate across media platforms in India and China.
