Mob justice claimed another life in the most populated province of the country, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

People tortured a man brutally on ‘theft’ charges in the Ahmadpurlama police limits in Sadiqabad town of southern Punjab, leaving him injured critically.

Police reached the site and shifted him to the hospital where he succumbed.  

The locals alleged the deceased was a thief and his accomplices managed to escape while the police claimed they were told that the victim fell prey to honour killing.

Two persons have been taken in custody and investigation in on, the lawmen said. 

Last month, a violent mob killed and burnt the body of the Sri Lankan factory manager on blasphemy charges in the Sialkot district of Punjab.
