The Punjab cabinet met with Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in the chair, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.

Ministers and officials concerned attended the second meeting of the provincial cabinet that strongly condemned the blast in Peshawar Police Lines mosque.

They prayed the Almighty may rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude. They also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. 

The meeting was briefed about the measures adopted to maintain law and order across the province and the chief minister issued special directives to step up security in wake of the Peshawar blast.

The cabinet decided that according to the court decision, the old law officers will also remain in their positions, but they will not be able to represent the government in any case. 

The Punjab cabinet was briefed about the corporate farming policy and the chief minister asked the authorities concerned to present it in the next meeting 

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi phoned his Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Azam Khan and offered condolence.

A suicide bomber exploded himself during Zuhr prayers at a mosque inside Police Lines in Peshawar, martyring dozens of worshippers including policemen and leaving a trail of destruction.
