Total matric marks enhanced to 1,200 after adding Quran subject
Quran Majeed paper to carry 100 marks and will be included in 2023 matric exams throughout Punjab

The Punjab Education Board has decided to increase the total marks in the Matriculation Examination from 1100 to 1200 after an addition of an extra Quran Majeed subject which will carry another 100 marks, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The Punjab Education Board has proposed to increase the total marks in Matric Exams from current 1100 to 1200. The board has decided to introduce another subject Quran Majeed in the Matric syllabus and the board will conduct exam of the new subject carrying 100 marks.
The Quran Majeed translation paper will be included in the Matric Exam in 2023. A 50 marks paper will be taken in grade nine and another 50 marks exam will be taken in grade ten.
The Quran Majeed subject has been included in the online registration for the grade nine.
The meeting of Punjab Board Committee of Chairmen will give final approval for the inclusion of another 100 marks in the total marks of the Matriculation Exams.
