Pregnant woman found dead in Quetta; husband detained
A pregnant woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a Quetta housing scheme, prompting police to detain her husband, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The Quetta police have taken custody of the deceased woman’s body for a post-mortem examination and are currently questioning her husband to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to police sources, the victim's seven-year-old child was also found at the crime scene with visible injuries. Emergency responders immediately shifted the wounded child to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Officials confirmed that the deceased woman originally hailed from Punjab, adding that further legal and investigative actions will be initiated once her parents arrive in Quetta.
Balochistan’s Special Assistant on Home Affairs Babar Yousafzai announced that Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau has taken strict notice of the alleged murder, which occurred in the Farid Baba Colony area near Airport Road.
He further ordered the local police to submit a detailed report on the incident without delay.
Babar Yousafzai strongly condemned the act, stating that those responsible for the crime will be brought to justice and penalized according to the law.
He assured the victim's family that a transparent investigation will be guaranteed to ensure justice is served.
Emphasizing the provincial government's stance, he added that following the directives of the Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, the safety of all citizens remains their top priority, and no elements will be allowed to spread fear or commit atrocities in the province.
