All is set for PDM’s Swat public rally

Arrangements have been finalised for the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) public gathering to be held in Swat on July 4, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who is also the head of his party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), will lead the rally from Katlang interchange, Mardan to Swat.
Sources in the PDM told 24News TV channel that people from surrounding cities such as Charsadda, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi and other areas would join the main rally at Katlang interchange in the form of small processions.
JUI-F leader Abdul Ghafoor Haideri will lead the rally from Buner while Asad Mehmood, Fazl’s son, will lead the rally from Matta, Swat.
Senator Maulana Ataur Rehman, organiser of the event and JUI-F Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Amir, has already completed tours to Dir, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Shangla and other districts, while around thousand volunteers of Ansarul Islam in uniform will provide security to the public gathering.
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Aftab Sherpao, Akhtar Mengal, Abdul Malik Baloch, Owais Noorani, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ameer Muqam will also address the event.
Senator Maulana Ataur Rehman has claimed that Swat jalsa will break all previous records in terms of gathering of people. “There will be Dama Dam Mast Qalander on 4th of July,” the senator said, adding, “We have already submitted an application to the district administration, seeking permission for the event. Whether one permits us or not, we will go ahead with the jalsa,” he vowed.
